The Route des Pêches, a strategic corridor connecting Cotonou to Ouidah, suffered from inadequate lighting, making nighttime travel dangerous and hindering economic activity along the coast.
ESOM designed and installed 1,231 autonomous solar streetlights along the entire route. Each light point is equipped with photovoltaic panels, LiFePO4 batteries and high-performance LEDs, ensuring continuous lighting without grid connection.
The corridor is now fully illuminated, improving road safety and stimulating nighttime economic activity. The project has become a national benchmark in public solar lighting.
